“The Lord Is a Warrior”
Our pictures of Jesus often overly focus on the compassionate, gentle Jesus who is meek and mild. Yet the Lord also made a whip to drive out of the Temple the money changers who used the Temple for their own profit (). Out of the mouth of the Son of Man is a sharp two-edged sword (). Our Savior rules the nations today as He has throughout all of history. The Lord judges the nations that troubled Israel. The Lord is not a tribal deity of one race or nation. He is the Lord of the nations.
I. Egypt –
A. Necho had killed Josiah in battle –
1. Egypt had boasted of rising up like the Nile River to overwhelm the nations of the earth –

2. Yet God will avenge Himself against His enemies –
B. God laughs at the “gods” of Egypt whom the Israelites trusted –
1. Babylon marched into Egypt in 601 BC to defeat the Egyptians

II. The King –

2. He asks for and intercedes for Egypt. After judgment, peace –
3. An altar to the Lord will someday be erected in Egypt –
Today in Egypt, God has raised up President Sisi as a modern day Cyrus (see , ). He protects Christians and churches in Egypt. New Geneva Seminary through Equipping Pastors International has 70 students that meet in Alexandria, Egypt for Biblical studies. Twenty-two graduated in March 2016. Through International Church Ministries, 25 Christian Churches have been built in the last 10 years.

1. He will make an end of all nations
2. But preserve Jacob for a great revival yet to come –

God is Israel’s protector. How foolish of Israel’s prime minister to insist Israel has no one to save them but themselves.

A. Philistia will be judged –
1. The Philistines’ hope was in Tyre and Sidon
2. The sword of the Lord – the army that judged the Philistines –
3. Who came from - the island of Crete
B. God judges Moab –
1. Cursed are those who do the work of the Lord deceitfully –
2. Jeremiah’s response is to weep for the nation –
3. A Christian is never happy for the judgment of the wicked –
As Christians, we are called to love the world. God loves the world and His Spirit motivates us to care for the nations. We are called to go to the nations. Pray and intercede as a kingdom of priests for the nations (). Kiss the Son for today is a day of salvation ().
